2018 Rainfall Ended On High Note

Rain over the coming holiday weekend is not expected to make much difference in the high levels in the Floridan Aquifer or water levels on the Suwannee and Santa Fe Rivers. Local river levels are still falling from their recent crests caused by high December rainfall.

Our compilation of rainfall data for 2018 shows a District-wide rainfall surplus of 10.36 inches (see attached graphic). Annual surplus rainfall was over 20% higher than usual in Taylor, Lafayette, and Dixie counties, but close to normal in Baker, Bradford and Union counties.
