Despite relatively low rainfall in much of the District, data from the District’s groundwater monitoring network show that levels in the Floridan Aquifer at the end of March were generally in the normal range. However, this time of year tends to have low rainfall in north Florida, while at the same time temperatures are rising and water demand by plants increases. Therefore, water conservation continues to be necessary to sustain healthy groundwater levels and flows in District springs and rivers. Landscape irrigation during Daylight Savings Time (March 8th to November 1st 2020) is limited to twice per week for residential landscaping, public or commercial recreation areas, and businesses that are not regulated by a District-issued water use permit.
