Group of Hunters

Over 105,000 acres of District lands are available for deer, hog, turkey, and small game hunting. The majority of these lands are part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's (FWC) Wildlife Management Area (WMA) or Wildlife Environmental (WEA) programs.

For more information about WMA/WEAs, contact the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) at 386.758.0525 to request the annual WMA/WEA brochures or stop by your local tax collector's office to pick up a copy.

Prescribed Fire Notices:

Prescribed fire Operations will be conducted on the following tract(s) on 1/22/2018:

1) The Santa Fe Swamp tract in Bradford County. Prescribed fire activities will be conducted in the northeastern section of the tract.

2) The Bay Creek tract in Columbia County. Prescribed fire activities will be conducted in the north central part of the tract; north of the main public road.

For the safety of recreational users, public access to burn areas will be closed during burning operations. Contact Scott Gregor, Natural Resource Specialist, at 386.362.8130 for additional information.
