About the District
The Ombudsman provides the public with a point of contact for timely responses to inquiries and complaints. The Ombudsman works with District management and staff to address citizen concerns.
The Ombudsman is the District's citizen liaison, facilitating communication and providing accessible, responsive government.
The Ombudsman replies to inquiries and complaints only against the Suwannee River Water Management District. The Ombudsman does not have authority to change an agency finding or policy, or to bring legal actions. The Ombudsman does not investigate complaints against any other entity. The Ombudsman cannot intervene if the matter is in litigation and should not be contacted if you are represented by legal counsel. The Ombudsman is a resource the public may use prior to the dispute escalating to the legal system.
