District Governing Board Appoints Hugh Thomas As Executive Director
LIVE OAK, FLA., July 11, 2017 – At their board meeting on July 11, 2017, the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) Governing Board appointed Hugh Thomas as the new executive director of the District, effective July 17.
District Moves Forward With Lafayette County Stormwater Improvement Project
LIVE OAK, FLA., July 11, 2017 –The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) Governing Board recently authorized additional funding for Lafayette County to implement a stormwater improvement project
The District partnered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to update the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) report for Columbia County. Before adoption, appeals may be sent to Chad Williams, 607 NW Quinten St., Lake City, FL 32055 by October 13, 2017. A public forum will be held August 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Westside Community Center.

The Woods Ferry tract in northeastern Suwannee County is currently closed for public use as the District will be conducting land management operations on the tract’s public roadway. The tract will be closed for approximately four weeks.
