Location and Access
The Steinhatchee Falls tract is located in southeastern Taylor County; the Steinhatchee Rise tract is in southwestern Dixie County.
Access to the Steinhatchee Falls tract from Perry:
Travel south on US 19 to SR 51, turn right and the tract is on the left past the convenience store.
Access from Cross City:
Travel north on US 19, turn left on SR 51 and the tract begins on the left past the convenience store.
The entrance to Steinhatchee Falls:
Travel 1.75 miles south on SR 51 to Steinhatchee Falls Road, turn left and follow the road to the dead end, turn right and the road ends at Steinhatchee Falls.
Access to the Steinhatchee Rise tract from Perry:
Travel south on US 19, cross the Steinhatchee River Bridge; travel 1.75 miles to SW 700th Street, turn right and the tract is on the right.
Access from Cross City:
Travel north on US 19, turn left on SW 700th Street and the tract is on the right.

Description
Steinhatchee Falls natural communities are floodplain swamp, bottom land forest, pine plantation, and mixed hardwood forest. Steinhatchee Rise contains the same communities in addition to mesic and wet flat woods.
Wildlife species include gopher tortoise, wading birds, wild hog, swallow-tailed kite, Swainson's warbler, deer, turkey, and squirrel.

Recreational Activities
Both tracts are primitive recreation sites.
Hunting is allowed on the Steinhatchee Rise tract, which is part of the Steinhatchee Springs WMA.

Allowable uses are wildlife viewing, picnicking, fishing, hunting, bicycling, hiking, and horseback riding on administrative roads.
The Steinhatchee Trail Tennille Trail head on SR 51 and the Steinhatchee Falls Park are featured sites. Steinhatchee Falls is a small scenic waterfall located at the Steinhatchee Falls Park. The Steinhatchee Trail is a 3-mile, multi-use trail that begins at the trail head on SR 51 and ends at Steinhatchee Falls.
