Northwest Region
The northwest region of the District follows the district boundaries through Jefferson County and portions of both Madison and Taylor counties. The Econfina, Aucilla, and Wacissa rivers flow through the northwest region to the Gulf of Mexico.
Recreational opportunities in this region include

- Hunting
- Wildlife viewing
The region provides excellent fishing and paddling opportunities at the numerous river access points. These river corridors provide natural flood protection and good wildlife habitat. The northwest area is remote and wilderness-like area and access to District lands is limited due to the lack of roads and swampy areas.
