[ARCHIVED] District Welcomes New Board Member

LIVE OAK, FLA, Dec 1, 2016 – Governor Rick Scott recently appointed a new board member to the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) Governing Board. Charles Keith of Lake City, FL begins his service as of November 6, 2016 and will serve until he is eligible for re-appointment on March 1, 2018.

“Water is our greatest resource and I believe it should be available for all of our area’s users,” said Charles Keith, newly appointed governing board member for the District. “I look forward to this exciting opportunity from Governor Scott, the District and Board to serve my local area and help ensure our water is available for years to come.”

Mr. Keith represents the “At Large Basin” member of the board, which was previously vacant. Other members of the board represent significant geographic areas with the District, which are identified by the river basin boundaries.

“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Keith to our governing board,” said Noah Valenstein, executive director for the District. “We look forward to utilizing his knowledge and expertise to help guide the District in water issues and represent the valuable interests of our constituents.”

Owner of American Pawn Brokers, Inc., Mr. Keith received his college degree from Armstrong State University.

The mission of the Suwannee River Water Management District is to protect and manage water resources to support natural systems and the needs of the public. The District holds true to the belief of water for nature, water for people.
