Gov. DeSantis reappoints two members of the SRWMD Governing Board

LIVE OAK, FLA., AUGUST 25, 2023 – Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday announced the reappointment of Richard Schwab and William Lloyd to the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) Governing Board. 

Schwab was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott in 2015 to represent the Coastal River Basin. He is the Vice President of M.A. Rigoni, Inc. He is a third-generation logger and has worked in the forest industry for more than 25 years. Schwab is a current member of the Southern Wood Producers Association, the American Loggers Council, and the Forest Resources Association. 

Lloyd was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2021 to represent the Santa Fe – Waccasassa River Basin. Lloyd is the Vice President of Suwannee Valley Feeds, LLC. He is the former Manager of Suwannee Valley Feeds and a Dairy Specialist with ADM Alliance Nutrition. 

“We are pleased that Gov. DeSantis has reappointed Mr. Lloyd and Mr. Schwab to our Governing Board,” said Hugh Thomas, Executive Director of the District. “Both have been tremendous assets to the District and we look forward to their continued service.” 

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. 

The mission of the Suwannee River Water Management District is to protect and manage water resources using science-based solutions to support natural systems and the needs of the public. The District holds true to the belief of water for nature, water for people. Headquartered in Live Oak, Florida, the District serves 15 surrounding north-central Florida counties.
