SRWMD Hydrologic Conditions Report for November

LIVE OAK, FLA., DECEMBER 13, 2023 – To help enhance public awareness of water levels and the impact rainfall has on current conditions in North Florida, the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) has released its Hydrologic Conditions Report for the month of November.  

This monthly report highlights rainfall, surface water and groundwater levels, a climate and drought outlook, as well as other scientific data that can be utilized to help educate the public about the impact rainfall has on North Florida.  

Notable highlights from the month of November include:  

• The District received an average rainfall of 3.19 inches of rain during the month, which is approximately 36 percent higher than the 1932-2022 average of 2.34 inches of rain.
• The 12-month rainfall period ending November 30 reflected a Districtwide rainfall deficit of 2.58 inches, a slight decrease from the previous month. 
• River stations across the District finished in either the normal (25^th to 75^th percentile) or above normal (75^th to 100^th percentile) flow ranges.   
• Upper Floridan Aquifer level across the District reflected mainly normally (25^th to 75^th percentile) or high (75^th to 90^th percentile) groundwater levels in November, though a few wells across the District were in the low (10^th to 25^th percentile) levels.  
• The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) three-month seasonal outlook suggests equal chances of above, below, or normal temperatures along with above normal precipitation throughout the District from December through February. 
• The U.S. Drought Monitor report released on December 7 shows mostly normal conditions across the District, except for some areas of Taylor, Dixie, Gilchrist, and Levy counties, which show Abnormally Dry conditions.
