[ARCHIVED] SRWMD Speakers’ Bureau available for educational school, community group presentations

LIVE OAK, FLA., DEC. 21, 2022 – To increase the awareness of its core missions and programs, the Suwannee River Water Management District’s Speakers’ Bureau is available to engage with and help educate schools, businesses, or community groups within the District on a variety of water-related topics. 

The District’s scientists, engineers, and other water resource experts can tailor presentations to meet a group’s specific needs or answer questions about many water-related topics. 

“Education is a core component of the District’s mission,” said Troy Roberts, District Communications and Outreach Manager. “This is another resource that we can provide to the community to help them better understand the important role of the District and its efforts on preserving and protecting the valuable resources of our region.”

Subjects can include information about the District itself, tips for individual users on ways they can reduce water use and work toward conservation efforts, permitting, recreational opportunities on District lands, as well as information about the various lakes, rivers, and springs within the District.

The mission of the Suwannee River Water Management District is to protect and manage water resources using science-based solutions to support natural systems and the needs of the public.
