[ARCHIVED] Withlacoochee River Predicted to Flood

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Withlacoochee River near Pinetta affecting Madison County. The river is forecast to rise above the flood stage of 79.0 feet Wednesday evening (Feb. 27) and continue to rise to near 80.4 feet by Friday evening (Feb. 29). Minor flooding is occurring and expected to continue.

All persons with interest along the river should monitor the lastest forecasts and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you see flood waters, remember to turn around and do not drown.
