The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) invites the public to provide comment on updates to its proposed 2010 Florida Forever Work Plan during its next Governing Board meeting on December 8 at 9 a.m. at Bronson Town Hall, 650 Oak Street, Bronson.
The updated work plan presents projects eligible for funding under the Florida Forever Act and reports on progress and changes made since adoption of the initial plan. Under the work plan, the District acquires and manages lands for flood control, water quality protection and natural resource conservation. The plan also promotes restoration projects which restore the environment to its natural state.
Most District lands are available for public recreational uses such as hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and horseback riding.
The Governing Board is expected to approve the work plan in January.
